Assignment #10 – Sketchbook Buddy Picture

Students are to demonstrate their knowledge of using Sketchbook tools including erase, image scaling, and layers. They must use a picture of themselves and a “buddy” or “buddies”, then bring in a minimum of 4 images from the web to create a fantasy composite image that tells a story. Composition, masking, detail, perspective and other basic design technique will be included in the grading.

Files must be saved as to Sketchbook Gallery, and shared to their Camera Roll. Students will upload their final piece from their Camera Roll to their ePortfolios with the assignment Title,  order number, and with a detailed assignment description (can be copied and pasted from here) and reflection restating what they did, how they did it, and how they feel about their work.

Story: One day, me and Emily decided to leave earth and head to space! We found the moon, so Emily showed off her strength and I showed off my star spinning techniques. We met a friendly alien and could see all of the planets from where we were. We definitely made the right decision that day!

Reflection: The steps for this assignment (the Sketchbook Buddy Picture assignment) included taking a picture of yourself with a “buddy” or “buddies”, importing a minimum of 4 images that relate to your theme, and most important of all: being creative during the  process! I completed all of these steps correctly and efficiently. I took a picture of myself with a “buddy” (Emily), imported a minimum of 4 images that related to my theme, and most important of all: was  creative during the process! I enjoyed this assignment greatly and would love to do it again!
