Assignment #8- Sketchbook Personal Makeover

Students are to demonstrate their knowledge of using Sketchbook tools including erase, image scaling, and layers. They must use the a background image, a picture of themselves to match the story/theme of their background/fantasy, and then bring in a minimum of 4 images from the web to create a fantasy composite image that tells a story. Composition, masking, detail, perspective and other basic design technique will be included in the grading.

Files must be saved as to Sketchbook Gallery, and shared to their Camera Roll. Students will upload their final piece from their Camera Roll to their ePortfolios with the assignment Title,  order number, and with a detailed assignment description (can be copied and pasted from here) and reflection restating what they did, how they did it, and how they feel about their work.

Story: One night, I laid in my bed thinking about what it would be like if I was a narwhal. Once I fell asleep, my thought came true! I was a narwhal! But I knew it was a dream. I blinked hard twice but nothing happened. I blinked again, still nothing. Am I really a narwhal, in the ocean, with other narwhals? How long would I be like this?!

Reflection: The steps for this assignment (the Sketchbook Personal Makeover assignment) included taking a picture of yourself, importing it into a chosen background, adding objects related to the background into the picture, and most importantly… being creative! I followed all of the steps correctly and efficiently. I took a picture of myself, imported it into a chosen background, added objects related to my background into the picture, and most importantly… was creative! I enjoyed this assignment greatly and would love to do it again.
