Hello! I hope you had a good weekend. Today we will be looking at the rapid series of events that led to the outbreak of the Civil War in 1861.

1. Go get a textbook and look at the electoral map of the 1860 Presidential Election on page 486. What observations can you make from looking at the make. Why did Lincoln win?

2. Turn to page 497 and look at the map of seceding states. Color the map on the sheet of 11 X 17 paper (the one with 4 maps on it). Answer the prompts on the back.
