Churchill High School College & Career Extravaganza! November 15

This year’s College and Career Extravaganza is happening this November 15th at 6-8:30 PM! Guest presenters a well as our own experts will be giving presentations on some of the your most common college and career questions. This event is open to all Churchill students and their families! Food will be provided!

Oregon Air National Guard Visit – November 3rd

This Friday, November 3rd, representatives from the Oregon Air National Guard will be visiting to talk about post high school job opportunities! This is a great chance for you to ask questions and explore post high school options outside of colleges and universities. We will be meeting at 11:45 in room F36. See you there!

The OSAC Scholarship Application is Opening November 1st!

What is the OSAC?

The Office of Student Access and Completion (OSAC) Scholarship Application is opening this November 1st for the 2024/25 school year! The OSAC allows Oregon residents to apply for multiple scholarships at one time with hundreds of scholarships available. We encourage all graduating seniors to fill out the OSAC, even if you are planning to attend college out of state.

What you need to do:

The OSAC has multiple sections that need to be filled out, so don’t wait to get started. Sections include…

  • Filling out an activities chart
  • Writing personal statements
  • Submitting your FAFSA/ORSAA

Important Deadlines

  • November 1st – OSAC Scholarship Application opens
  • December – 2024-24 FAFSA and ORSAA open
  • February 15 – Early Bird Scholarship deadline
  • April 1 – Scholarship Application Final deadline
  • June 1 – Oregon Promise Application deadline

DON’T WAIT! The FAFSA won’t open until December, but you can start and submit your OSAC application now! There are over 600 scholarships available through the OSAC so start early and get ahead!

Duck Express – November 16th

On November 16th, representatives from the University of Oregon will be hosting a workshop here on campus in room F 36 from 3:30 to 5:00 PM to help students with their applications to the UO!

This workshop is designed to help students finish the application, but we recommend that you have the following items prepared prior to attending this event:

  • Your laptop (We will not have computers available for you, you much bring your own)
  • Your email address
  • your $65 application fee (Mastercard or Visa only)(You may qualify for a fee waiver)
  • Unofficial high school transcripts
  • Test scores (optional)
  • Residency information
  • Non optional written statements (some essays are opt in)
  • Optional special circumstance statement

If you complete your application at the Duck Express event, you will be considered an early application applicant and receive an early decision. The standard date for early application at the UO is November 1st, so this is a very special opportunity.

College Visit – Landmark College

The Landmark College visit has been moved to Monday, November 13. Landmark College is a private college in Vermont that specialized in teaching students with learning disabilities. This is a very unique college so if you are at all interested don’t miss this chance!

About this Event

The Seattle Black College Expo is an excellent, unique opportunity for high school juniors and seniors who identify as black or African American to connect with colleges and celebrate their unique experiences. The BCE hosts historically black colleges as well as other colleges and universities from around the U.S to meet with students one on one to give advice and even give admissions decisions on the spot. Please bring a copy of your transcripts as well as your ACT or SAT scores with you to this event!

This event is free to all students and offers opportunities to earn scholarships as well as cash prizes, so don’t miss out!
