  • 4J Licensed Job EXPO
Eugene 4J will hold a virtual (ZOOM) Job Expo from April 12th to April 28th. The Job Expo dates for all secondary level and district office vacancies will be held on Tuesday 4/12 (round 1) and Tuesday 4/26 (round 2). Elementary level vacancies will be held Thursday 4/14 (round 1) and Thursday 4/28 (round 2). Interviews will occur via Zoom from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on the scheduled dates. EEA members who have been displaced, who are returning from a leave, or who wish to transfer to another building will have the opportunity to interview for open positions (for which they are endorsed to teach or willing and able to obtain the endorsement).
Bargaining unit members who fit the following criteria are eligible to participate in the Job Expo:
    • part-time or full-time job rights
    • 0.5 FTE or greater
    • contract or probationary
    • temporary employees working 0.5 FTE or greater, hired into their temporary assignment prior to November 1, 2021, working in a position that has been determined hard to fill (SPED, Counseling/Social Work, Dual Language positions) and whose assignment continues through the Job Expo
  • New Resource Care Solace: 4J has partnered with Care Solace, a new mental health service, that matches students, staff, and families in need to verified service providers, securing appointments quickly. Principals or counselors can make referrals, so just let myself or Anne know if you, a family member, or a student/student’s family need a referral.

  • April 15 PD/Prep Day: We haven’t heard what the district’s plan is for this day, but we’ll keep you posted.

  • Repeat: Claim Your 4J Account: 4J Technology emailed staff a RapidIdentity Quicksheet on how to update your password and account security by April 15. This will ensure your usernames and passwords are consistent across all 4J systems and make it easier for the tech department to integrate new systems. The short version is to go this link and follow the directions.

PROFESSIONAL LEARNING AND OTHER INFORMATION

  •  AVID Resource – Student engagement, ownership, and motivation are key ingredients to academic success. Nearly all students learn more when they are personally interested and invested in their learning. They tend to care about the work beyond a letter grade and become motivated by personal pride and a desire to be successful. Allowing students to choose their own path and express themselves in ways that are personally meaningful can go a long way toward bringing academic content to life, while also making the learning more intrinsically meaningful. This effect can be amplified even more when there is an authentic audience involved. Check out this podcast about Authentic Demonstration of Student Knowledge: Helping Students Share Their Stories Authentically to Validate Their Voices

  • Digital Field Trips: Museums for Digital Learning was developed in partnership with teachers and provides curated material on a variety of topics. They have resource kits and ebooks sourced from museums across the country. It has materials for kids at all grade levels. Create a free account and check it out!
