Research Project-Sushi

Students pick a topic of their choice – preferably one they are passionate about, and can find enough supporting facts, evidence through research with online library resources and other web resources, research their topic and take notes using Easybib online note and citation software. Students use MS Word to learn basic report formatting, learn how to make proper citations for a bibliography using Easybib and MS Word, and write an introductory paragraph. (Extra credit is given for writing 2 additional paragraphs to complete a mini-report). Standard report formatting per specifications taught and modeled in class. These guidelines are used throughout classes at Cal Young and into high school.

The finished pieces (uploaded as 2 separate files) are saved as a MS Word .docx file and a .pdf file – the .pdf files is uploaded to their Tech Lit page on their ePortfolio and displayed in the standard ePortfolio format: Naming the assignment (title), giving the assignment description (can be copied from above here), showing the assignment (link to the .pdf file with an accurate link name), and a reflection statement (restate the assignment task (WHAT), tell steps taken to complete the assignment (HOW), and what the student thinks of their effort and work quality (SELF-EVALUATION).

Sushi Bibliography

The history of sushi

Reflection- I decided to do my research project on sushi because it is one of my favorite foods. I thought that it would be fun to learn things about something i love i may not have known. First i picked my topic and found some websites to put on my bibliography. Then i took some notes on the subject using the websites and made a thesis. After that it was pretty easy, all i had to do was make my paper which was fun putting everything together. All around this was a great project and I’m happy i did it
