I think that this book is very like real life, because of all the gossip and bullying that is happening. At this school, a lot of gossip happens behind peoples backs. There was also a lot of gossip in the book. It is also lifelike in the way we treat people who are different. In society, when people are different, they get treated differently, even if they can do things things that everyone else can do.

The book seems exactly like real life to me. The part with Julian being one way in front of adults and another when there is no adults happens in real life a lot. There is really preppy girls in real life and a dog who loves to hog the bed. Also there is that one really popular guy that makes everyone laugh and that one over protective family member.

Wow, this seems more like middle school than fifth grade, and it seems really realistic as well, It’s a good book, and it covers some important topics. I can’t wait for the movie!

I think that this book seems pretty real. It seems real because usually, even if they aren’t trying to, kids are pretty mean to other kids that look different. This happens in the book and real life. Also, at least hopefully, there is at least one kid who is kind and excepts them for who they are and not what they look like. This book also recognizes peer pressure, like when Jack tells Julian that he doesn’t like hanging out with August, when he actually does. This is an example of peer pressure that happens in both this book, and unfortunately real life. That is why I think this book is like real life.

I like how you didn’t use only examples you put it in without giving to much of the book away.

This book seems pretty lil like to me because of the school that Auggie goes to. The school seems a lot like real life to me because of how the different students treat someone that looks different. I can see how a one thing can spread fast, especially in middle school, like how student don’t want to touch Auggie.

I agree with you that things spread very fast in middle school. It seems like all kids in middle school want to do is gossip and spread rumors! Its sad really, that that is what we choose to do with our free time. I hope it improves!

This book seems very realistic to me. It doesn’t portray school in an excessively positive or excessively negative light like many other books. It also has realistic characters surrounding the protagonist, like the mother and fathers differing views on if they should send him to school. The parents different opinions seem realistic to us because most parents have probably had different views on how to nurture and protect their child, .

I think this book is really real because Auggie does all the things that we have done in the world like have are mom read to us and all the things that he has maybe not have a defermed face and surgerys but you get the point

This book seems very real because the book shows every detail that would happen in real life and it states Auggie’s whole life from when he was a baby to went he first starts 5th grade it states how his mom would tell stories to Auggie and how she would read stories talk him to school basically all the basic things in life how he eats like a turtle and how he feels when people look at him his favorite holiday etc.
This book tells us bit by bit what auggie actually looks like and how Auggie actually feels it’s so life like because of the details in this book.

I agree with this response. I really like the different details that you mentioned and I also think that they are all life like. How Auggie has a good relationship with his mom and how she tells stories about how he was born. I also like how the book mentions in different parts how Auggie was like when he was a baby and how he is like now.

I think this is talks about how people feel when they are different and being bulled in a way. Some people in this world have surgery’s that changes they way look, they don’t really know the person because they judge them by there looks. Most people will call them names or act like they don’t belong.
