Prose – written or spoken language in its ordinary form, without metrical structure.

Write down 10 memories you have from your childhood (age 9 or younger)

Some memories may include situations or events involving:

  • holidays
  • vacations
  • baptism
  • first of something
  • death
  • pets
  • family
  • friends

Now Choose ONE of these memories to write about.  Close your eyes and try to replay the memory in your head.  Pay close attention to sensory details.  What does it smell like? Look like? sound like? Taste like? Feel like?

Write down the memory in prose form.  Help your reader experience the memory.

Include at least 2 literary devices from your vocabulary words.
