Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
ATTENTION SENIOR FAMILIES!
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is now open!
As you may know, the FAFSA application is now open as a soft launch. This means that the application may be closed periodically as maintenance occurs.
Do not wait to apply! The FAFSA application may be undergoing maintenance but we do not recommend waiting. Some aid is distributed on a first come first served basis, so the sooner you apply, the better.
What you will need:
- Your Social Security Number
- Your Alien Registration Number (if you are not a U.S. citizen)
- Your federal income tax returns, W-2s. and other records of money earned
- Bank statements and records of investment (if applicable)
- Records of untaxed income (if applicable)
- An FSA ID to sign in electronically
- You must have your FSA ID set up at least three days before applying! If you do not already have an FSA ID set up, DO IT NOW.
The OSAC Scholarship Application – OPEN
What is the OSAC?
The Office of Student Access and Completion (OSAC) Scholarship Application is opening this November 1st for the 2024/25 school year! The OSAC allows Oregon residents to apply for multiple scholarships at one time with hundreds of scholarships available. We encourage all graduating seniors to fill out the OSAC, even if you are planning to attend college out of state.
What you need to do:
The OSAC has multiple sections that need to be filled out, so don’t wait to get started. Sections include…
- Filling out an activities chart
- Writing personal statements
- Submitting your FAFSA/ORSAA
Important Deadlines
- November 1st – OSAC Scholarship Application opens
- December – 2024-24 FAFSA and ORSAA open
- February 15 – Early Bird Scholarship deadline
- April 1 – Scholarship Application Final deadline
- June 1 – Oregon Promise Application deadline
DON’T WAIT! The FAFSA won’t open until December, but you can start and submit your OSAC application now! There are over 600 scholarships available through the OSAC so start early and get ahead!

Oregon Promise Grant
The Oregon Promise is an Oregon state grant that helps cover tuition costs at any Oregon community college for recent high school graduates and GED® test graduates. Students must apply during their senior year or immediately after GED® test completion.
Eligibility:
- Submit the Oregon Promise Grant Application through the OSAC AND the FAFSA or ORSAA
- List at least one Oregon community college on the FAFSA or ORSAA
- Be a recent Oregon high school graduate or GED test graduate
