Advanced Placement Exams

We are pleased that your student has chosen to take an Advanced Placement (AP) course this year.  Taking AP classes and exams can help students get ahead in high school and college. Students will: Build skills and confidence. AP students learn essential time management and study skills needed for college and career success.

Exam Fees –

We want to ensure every student who wishes to take an AP Exam has the opportunity to do so regardless of ability to pay. If you have been approved for free and reduced lunch or need financial assistance, please contact the AP Coordinator. Otherwise, the full fee will be due as described below.

We are fortunate that the Oregon Department of Education provides funding to reduce the cost of exams for everyone. What you find on the CollegeBoard website, $98.00 per exam, is not what you will pay. Fees are as follows:

If the student does not qualify for free and reduced lunch or a fee reduction:

Exams are free of charge for students who are eligible for free and reduced lunch or a reduction.

A $40.00 nonrefundable fee will be charged for any student who joins AP classes after November 15, 2023. A $40 cancellation fee is charged for any student who cancels after November 13, 2023 or does not take an exam for which testing materials were ordered.

Fees can be paid via SchoolPay (preferred method) or by cash or check in our Finance Office. Checks should be made out to Churchill High School. Please put “AP Exam” on the memo line. Cash payments must be the exact amount due. We cannot give change.

Families will be sent detailed information about testing closer to exam time.
