• Students will bring home an ORANGE folder daily. Check to see that the papers on the left side are for keeping at home such as Edison forms and graded papers.
The papers on the right side are for students to work on and bring back to class.

• We will use a WEEKLY assignment sheets as a way for students to remind themselves about work/study throughout the week.

• Spelling will be in LIST format. Students take the words to write sentences/ or complete activities using lists. Work is due on Thursday. Test on Friday.

• HRTS– Please read at least four nights per week and record with a parent signature at the end of the week. Newspapers, magazines, picture books, chapter books, class literature books. There may be literature assignments that need to be finished at home if there’s not enough time in class. Home Reading Time Sheets are colorful!

• WRITING JOURNALS ( composition books) are another way for students to practice language arts skills and write about topics of their choice, currents happenings, or teacher led prompts. In the journal, we skip lines, use editing symbols and practice a “writing process” of:
1. prewrite 2. rough draft 3. revise/edit 4. 2nd or final draft
5. Publish- for self or other audiences such as newspapers, student publications and contests. Not all assignments go through the entire process.

• We are working on math concepts and computation, practicing math drills in multiplication (x) and division at home if needed. Use the websites on my math links page to practice specific skills.
