We will frequently be using a reading strategy called marking the text where students will open a reading in the app called Notability on the student iPad. In notability, students can select different tools, (highlighters, pencils, text boxes, erasers etc) in order to mark the text in the ways assigned by the teacher. The default markings are to circle key words and vocabulary and to highlight main ideas. Since the students will be prompted to open the article/reading in Notability during class, all students should be able to access the readings at home even of they don’t have wireless. I will make a few paper copies available of each reading for students who do not have permission to take the iPad home.
