The Science Oaks Test is May 9-10

For the next week or so you will be reviewing for and taking the 8th grade science oaks test. It may seem overwhelming to have to remember your science from three whole years in science. We have devised a way to help you feel more prepared. Your 6th, 7th and 8th grade science teachers have created interactive review sheets for you to explore. I will post them here on the day that you will go over it in class.

On Thursday May 2, 2013 we will meet in room 210 and start on the 8th grade review sheet. I am asking you to either take notes on paper or use Pages to take notes on your iPad. Look up words you forget or never knew, watch short videos on concepts to review and take notes on what you learned/remembered.

You can access this document all weekend (and you have a long one), so please work on it over the weekend.

On Monday you will visit 7th grade classrooms (1st and 2nd to Ms Ruzicka and 3rd to Mr Baker) You will receive a review sheet at that time to cover life science standards. On Monday I will post their interactive review sheet here so you can study it further.

On Tuesday May 7th you will vista your 6th grade classroom. (per1 to Mr Baker and per 2,3 to Ms Mac William) meanwhile I’ll be teaching their classes. At that time, I will post their review sheet with hyperlinks and powerpoint for you to do further study.

Please plan to spend 20-30 minutes a day reviewing over the next week so that all of you can meet or exceed!

On May 8th we will do our final wrap up of 8th grade concepts and look at some sample questions together or do a practice test if I can get a cow. You can find these on the Oregon Department of Education Website. You must use Firefox to take the sample test.

On May 9th and 10th we will be taking the OAKS test. If you have remaining time then you can work on your work sample!

It’ll be a busy week. Try not to be absent!
