Hi Kids,
Well, the calendar says we should all be back in school, but we’re all still at home. Of course, it’s a lot safer this way, but our schedules are all wacky as a result.
As it is, I am spending this week gathering information about how I can help you all access PE activities throughout this break. All teachers in the district are meeting as groups, putting together learning packets and assignments for you to study. Our district’s PE teachers are doing the same thing. We are meeting to come up with activities and suggestions for you on how you can get physical activity, but safely, either outside or in your home. Starting next week, you’ll have some links or ideas about ways to get your heart and body moving, and keep you ready to return to PE classes as soon as school begins again.
In the meantime, do your best to get outside and exercise for 60 minutes per day. Riding a bike or skateboard, walking the dog or just playing in your yard with the adults in your home is so important for your health, both physically and mentally. Fresh air and sunshine are both so good for you. Try to get as much as possible of each. And when we finally get back to school, you’ll be ready for a strong finish to the school year in the gym.
I hope to see you all on April 28.
