Hard to believe, but the school year is nearly half over. At the end of January, it’s always time for our mid-year PACER run. The run will be during the week of January 28, on your last class of that week. Some classes will have the run each day during that week, so check the schedule to see when your LAST class is that week. Remember, there’s no school that Friday, so your run won’t be on a Friday.
The PACER is an activity in which you run until you want to quit. The longer you go, the faster the pace becomes, so it gets tough! Of course, if you run for a longer period of time, you are showing an increased level of fitness. This mid-year run is a chance to see if you’ve improved since the fall, and if you’ve reached your yearly benchmark in heart fitness.
As always, wearing good shoes is important during the test, and monitoring your own comfort is a key. I never want you to feel sick or hurt, so if you don’t feel your best, you don’t have to run this month. We’ll have another chance to run in the spring.
