My goal as an educator is to inspire students to find what interests them and foster a life-long love of learning.  I’ve been teaching for 13 years and I can’t imagine doing anything else.  My teaching career began at the University of Oregon where I taught French.  After earning a Master’s in French and second Master’s in education, I taught French and English Language Development at South Eugene high school for 4 years.  I then moved to Colorado for a year where I taught French, and worked in elementary education.  I’ve now been at Cal Young middle school for four years where I teach sixth grade Language Arts, Social Studies, and Reading Intervention. 

When I’m not teaching, I can usually be found in the forest in all seasons.  I love hiking and snowshoeing.  I also enjoy reading, gardening, cooking, playing the piano, learning new things, and spending time with my family and friends.
