9th Grade

We completed a sensory creative writing exercise recreating a reliable setting from the novel. After, I checked outlines and students had the rest of class to use the computers for their writing. I conferenced with individual students on their outlines.

HW: COMPLETE ROUGH DRAFT- due next class.

11th Grade (Section 12)

Students generated a list of gossip/rumors and facts on Jay Gatsby and discussed Fitzgerald’s choices for waiting until chapter III to introduce him. Full discussion on Ch 2-4; then, spent the final  minutes of class beginning the biography on the author. Review first 6 slides: Gatsby Day 3 2014ldon

HW: Read and summarize Chapter 5!
