9th Grade (Section 13)
After discussing Chapters 1-2 we took a closer look into Obed’s experience in the diamond mines of South Africa. We also compared the view of South Africa to that of Botswana and how this contributes to pride in one’s country. Review the Diamond PowerPoint. We began a partner activity two-voice poem. 11th Grade LOTA (All sections)
Today we, to much relief, charted out all of the connections, relationships, mysteries, and clues from Chapters 1-2. If you were out, check out the diagram that the class drew and took notes on. We also took a quiz and went over the answers. Lastly we shared out creative writing as well as some amazing family secret dishes. Aloha Friday!
HW: Read Chapters 3 and 4 and continue to chart details. Please also come in next class with an idea for your Compare/Contrast Essay.
