9th Grade

Today we completed and shared our song lyrics bringing South Africa’s study of Apartheid to a close. We read a poem entitled “Dry Your Tears, Africa” and completed   questions with the poem analysis. After discussing this, we completed our final Passbook Assignment with the poem- and next class will turn in our passbooks.

HW: Essay corrections are due 3/17- Remember I need the original essay with comments, the rubric, and the final- if one of these pieces is missing I will not be able to regrade your essay.

11th Grade (All Classes)

Plenty going on today! We had a final activity comparing the political climate of our novel to the Mexican Revolution. Students prepared and most were able to present their findings. We also went over the final creative writing piece (due Friday) and the reading schedule for the next novella we picked up today: Chronicle of a Death Foretold. Day 6 Like Water Final Assignment for Like Water for Chocolate Literature of the Americas

HW: Chapter 1 of Chronicle; work on creative writing piece.
