9th Grade (section 12)
We discussed the article that you were to read for Homework (way back when): “My House was a Horse Stall”. Students reviewed discussion questions in their literature circles. We went down to the AV room and checked out our novel The Samurai’s Garden. Students selected their first assignment and we began the book!
Homework: Read pages 3-37 and chart themes
11th Grade (Sections 11-13)
We reviewed transcendentalism concepts as well as the anti-transcendentalis movement (if you were out see me for an article). Students jigsawed between three “philosophical circles” and discussed their charted quotes from “Self Reliance”. If you were out be sure to turn in that chart.
Homework: Read and take notes on “Civil Disobedience” Relate this 150 year old essay to modern views of government in current events.
