9th Grade
We completed a close reading of U308 and discussed our theme chart and quotes for this piece. If you were out, make sure I stamp your chart. I gave a mini lesson on how to read a challenging piece of literature. We began “Dr. Wooreddy’s Prescription…” in class and discussed potential symbols. Students had the rest of class period to continue the reading.
Homework: Complete the story we began in class. Paraphrase essential information. Complete the starred questions in the packet.
11th Grade
Students completed an in-class passage analysis from either a Hawthorne or Poe story. We discussed elements of passage analysis and reviewed formal writing techniques. If you were absent, please ensure you see me for the Power point and the handout.
