9th Grade

We completed our Myth activity from two classes ago- students presented their poster to the class using techniques from the oral story telling mini lesson. Students took notes on the presentations. After, students read the Aboriginal poem “We Are Going” and completed the questions with a partner.

11th Grade LOTA

After several IB Presentations, students gathered in groups to complete the close reading of our first two Hawthorne stories. Students charted specific words and related the words to the mood (atmosphere) of the section. We presented our findings by reading the passage, pointing out specific examples of chiaroscuro and how the specific words contributed to mood. If absent- choose a section from the activity box and chart out 3 examples from the passage.

HW: NONE! Be ready for a quiz next class on “The Minister’s Black Veil”
