I hope everyone remembered to “spring forward” with daylight savings time and move your clocks ahead one hour this weekend. Hopefully Awbrey Park families remembered as well.

Announcements:
We are now a SMART School!– Our SMART Application was accepted this last Friday. We will begin planning for a set of volunteers to begin supporting our students in literacy next Fall.
Staff Meeting Agenda for March 12th-
1. Joel Presents the Collaborative Practice Schedule and Administrative Guidelines and the Staffing Timeline, 10 minutes
2. Collaborative Session with Christina- Compass Points Activity, 35-40 minutes

Shelley’s Budget Forecast Email – I’m not sure if everyone had a chance to read Shelly’s email regarding next year’s budget, but I wanted to let folks know that I’m available if you have any questions.
Teacher Evaluation in 2013-14 – Celia Feres-Johnson will be meeting with Awbrey Park staff on the morning of April 1st to preview some of the upcoming changes to the new teacher evaluation system. In addition, the school board will be asking for teacher input at upcoming executive board sessions.
ESY at Awbrey Park this Year – Thought I’d let everyone know that the Extended School Year (ESY) program will be at Awbrey Park this year. We had a one year of rest from this program but this year we will be hosting them again. I will give you more information later this Spring.
TED Talk Presenter, Chimamanda Adichie at UO, April 1st – It’s a few years old, but if you have time, here is a wonderful video on multiple perspectives from TED.com. Novelist Chimamanda Adichie tells the story of how she found her authentic cultural voice — and warns that if we hear only a single story about another person or country, we risk a critical misunderstanding. One reason I share this now is that she will be giving a free lecture at the UO the evening of Monday, April 1st. See the flyer for details.
