On April 10th students will begin working from an e-book downloaded to their iPads. For each section of the book students will be required to create a product to demonstrate their learning. There will be a quiz following each segment of the curriculum. The first topics include motion, frame of reference, speed and acceleration. Here is a PDF of the motion e-Book you can access from any device
Here is a list of the possible products:
1. Cornell Notes: Write a page of Cornell notes on each chapter in the eBook. I will supply formatted paper or you could start a science notebook. You may use the iPad and write notes questions and summary in a clearly labeled format using a writing or note-taking app. If you write notes on paper, take a photo of the notes to attach to the assignment for that e-book and then type your summary in Pages, save as a PDF and attach that to the Edmodo assignment as well.
2.Concept Map: Make a concept map using paper and art supplies or use the Inspiration to show your understanding of the section. I can supply colored pencils, paper, markers, rulers fort he hands on concept map. Take a photo if you are making a real concept map and submit it to the Edmodo assignment. If you are using Inspiration please save it as a PDF and submit it to Edmodo.
3. Song/Rap/Poem: Write a song or poem that shows your understanding of the concepts from one or more sections using the key vocabulary. You can perform this as a video and/or submit written work on pages as a PDF to Edmodo
4. Practice Problems: Copy and paste the PDF of the practice problems into notability. Use the pen or typing to answer the questions. Then save into your Edmodo backpack and attach to the assignment.
6. Make a Video: Create a video that shows your understanding of the concepts in this e-book. It can be a video of you talking or an action video showing how the concepts in the book apply to something you can set up and demonstrate. I think you will need to Airdrop it to me, so let me know when you plan to do so, so I can label it with your name.
7. Video Response/Reflections: Write a response/reflection of the videos in this e-book. Use Pages to record your thoughts, save it as a PDF and turn in to Edmodo
8. Vocabulary Review: Write each of the vocabulary words from the e-book with definitions written in your own words. Then use each word in a sentence that demonstrates your understanding of the word or concept and how it applies to a real world situation. Write it in pages save as a PDF and turn in to Edmodo
9. Design a Science Experiment: Develop an investigation that you could do involving the concepts in the chapter or book. Write the question containing the independent and dependent variables, identify the independent/dependent variables, predict the results of the experiment and write a detailed procedure. Use Pages to record your plans and save as a PDF and turn in to your backpack.
For each of these choices, make sure that you have a title and your name and period clearly labeled so I know whose project it is.
