  1. Residue: The substance left in filter paper
  2. Heterogeneous mixture: A mixture that is not well mixed
  3. Solubility: A measure of the number of grams of solute that can dissolve in a liter of a certain solvent
  4. Solvent: The substance into which a solute dissolves
  5. Soluble: Able to dissolve
  6. Filtrate: The part of a mixture that passes through a filter
  7. Saturated Solution: A solution that can not dissolve any more solute
  8. Solute: A substance that can dissolve in a solvent
  9. Pure substance: A substance which is made up of just one type of matter that has distinct physical and chemical properties
  10. Solution: A homogeneous mixture that is transparent, uniform in color and a liquid
  11. Insoluble: Not able to dissolve

The words above are the ones that will be covered on the quiz on 1/17/14. A lot of them sound alike, so make sure you study and know the difference.
