In lesson 5 we will have the opportunity to use the force probe with the computers to gather data about the forces exerted by a spring and a rubber band as you stretch it. We will compare the digital probe data to the data collected with the spring scale.

To begin Collecting your Elastic Force data
1) Click green icon with arrow
2) The end of spring should be at “O” on ruler
3) Tape down ruler to keep from moving
4) Newton force reading should be near 0 Newtons (N); if not click on “0” icon
5) Click “swirl” button to record elastic force
6) Enter “0” for the number of centimeters
7) Repeat with other stretch distances
8) After collecting all your data, click on the red icon to stop data collection
