1/22-1/27

The article for this week should be a good one. It’s about censorship and who should decide what children read. It mentions the Hunger Games and The Giver, which I know a lot of students have read.

We’re tentatively planning to do Tuesday’s slideshow on best practices for cold/flu seasons. I’ll have that to you on Monday at the latest.

Also, please keep Breakfast of Champions in mind going into next week. I’ll send out a reminder email on Monday.

1/15 Behavior Expectations Review

As promised, this Tuesday morning’s homeroom will review goal setting: https://goo.gl/jfCvAU

For homeroom teachers who think their students need an ePortfolio review, start from the beginning.

For homeroom teachers whose students have ePortfolio down pat, please skip ahead to the slide #4.

Please let me know if you have any questions/comments.

1/9 Behavior Expectations Review

There’s been a change of plans for Tuesday’s homeroom. The focus will be on reviewing key expectations from last year. Here’s the link to the slideshow (work in progress): https://goo.gl/vfykKr

The activity will be mostly student led. The idea is to break the students into five groups (however works best for you), assign them a section in their planners, and have them report out in the end. More details are in the slideshow. Let me know if you have any questions/suggestions.

January Breakfast of Champions

The theme for January is Exceeds Expectations. The event is slated for January 30th at 8:15-8:45am in the library. These are the students who regularly go above and beyond expectations on all of their assignments, etc. We’re always open to other theme ideas if you have a good one!

Please nominate students under the January tab here: https://goo.gl/68t4B7. Also, be sure to double check that your student has not been nominated previously.
