The Game: Final Choice
Remember the last story where James Durrant and Michael Curry won the NBA Championship playing for the Boston Celtics? Well, their are two new players in the Western Conference that can take the throne for the defending champions, the Boston Celtics. The names of the new two players are Anthony Davis and Kyle Irving.
Anthony Davis is from Stanford University about 40 miles South of San Francisco. He is well liked and did very great in school outside of the basketball world. He got straight A’s all the way through, sometimes harder to maintain that then other times. He is a Center standing at 7’4 320lb but has the speed of a Pointguard. He was such a valueable asset when he was playing in College for Stanford. The Warriors chose him as a number one pick knowing he has so much potential. His main goal is to take the throne and win his first NBA championship with Kyle Irving. Davis led the ncaa with blocks and rebounds, averaging 6 blocks a game and 18 rebounds per game. It is something colleges have not seen in a very long time. The Warriors have needed a center for a while, they can not wait for Davis to prove why he is the number one pick. “Are you excited to finally be in the NBA”? Asked coach Kerr. “Yes it has always been my dream for as long as I can remember, it was always just a dream but now it is reality and I could not be more excited to play for such a talented Organization”.
Kyle Irving is from Notre Dame University about three hours North of Indianapolis. He helped his team win the ncaa championship. He was the best point guard in College, the stats were their to prove it. He averaged 40 points, 15 assists and 10 rebounds a game. He is 6’4 215lb, being one of the most athletic players in college. “I can not wait for the season to start so I can play to the best of my ability and win a championship, that has been my goal since I was a kid. Basketball has not only been a game for me it has been my life”. Coach Kerr believes that his team has a very good chance of winning and that Davis and Irving have a lot of promise.
Kerr is one of the most winning coaches in the NBA. He has been coaching for 12 years and has won 10 NBA championships. He believes this team has more promise then any other team he has coached in the past. His team went 79-3 for the best record in the West and the best record in NBA history. They swept the Heat, Bucks and Raptors. Now the time has come where they verse the Golden State Warriors in the NBA championship, a chance to win their first title. The first game was in Oakland. Davis and Irving felt very confident in their game and all the practice they have put in to work for this. It was down to two seconds left in the first game. “Davis pass the ball I am open!” said Kyle. He got the three to go in right as the buzzer sounded and right before James Durrant could use his 7’10 wingspan to block the shot. It was now game 5. The Warriors two nights earlier getting a win just barely in hostile territory. Their was 15 seconds on the shot clock, Durrant ran down the court to try and take a 140-138 lead but the 7’4 Davis came racing down the court from the other side and blocked it from behind. He did a bullet pass right to irving who was near half court and miraculously made the trick shot with two players double teaming him. It went in right as the buzzer sounded and the Oakland crowd was stunned the Celtics just took the throne from the Warriors. Irving threw the ball into the stands in excitement.
In conclusion the Celtics could not have won this alone, they needed every bit of talent they had. The Celtics can go back to Boston feeling that they acomplished something great. All in all you can not win in the NBA with just one person it takes a whole team.
