Thank you for an awesome start to the school year! I’m really looking forward to re-discovering early American History with you this year while we focus in on the reading, writing, media literacy, and thinking skills that will prepare you for high school and beyond.
For the first 2-3 weeks of Social Literacy, we will create a foundation for the learning we will do this year by considering what it means to read like a historian and the value of exploring multiple perspectives when we investigate a moment in history.
A few important reminders for this first few weeks of class:
- Make sure you are making it a habit to bring your binder, iPad, and History NB with you to class every day!
- Your CY Social Literacy Syllabus-8 should be placed in the Social Literacy section of your binder for future reference. Your parents will also want to see this before they complete their homework this week!
