Parents always ask: “How can I help?” Here are a few important ways you can help us teachers. See below:
Siempre nos preguntan los padres, “¿Cómo puedo ayudar?” Pues aquí hay unos ejemplos de como nos pueden ayudar:
HOMEWORK is very important as it gives students a chance to put into practice, review and apply the skills and concepts they have been learning in the classroom. The more they practice the better they become at retaining the information learned. The more time students become invested in their homework, the more responsible they become for their learning. Homework also provides a close connection between school and home, so that parents are aware of what their child is learning.
The more time students spend doing their homework, the better they become at understanding and improving on the concepts being taught in school and it will help to bolster their academic achievements as well.
For students to be able to show quality homework, parents are encouraged to:
- provide a quiet workplace for students to work on.
- check in with students and ask questions in reference to what they are doing.
- provide students with healthy snacks before they sit down to do their homework.
- provide necessary materials, e.g. pencils, dictionary, glue, or whatever they may need to help them with projects.
- make sure that students’ work is placed in backpacks so that it is readily available for school the following day.
- inform teachers (write a note in planner) if student was struggling with the assignment.
