Hi Kids,
You have probably heard, but spring break has begun a week early, due to the growing concerns over the Corona virus. So far there are no cases near where we live, but just to be safe, our district has decided to give us all an extra week to be sure we can return healthy to school next month. We’ll all meet back at school on April 1 (no fooling) and continue with the rest of the year.
I want to let you know that, though we won’t be in school for these next 18 days, you still should try and get at least 60 minutes of activity each day. This activity can be something like riding a bike or skateboard, playing soccer or kickball with other kids, doing pilates or yoga with your adults at home, or just running through a neighborhood playground. When it’s dry and nice outside, get your body up and moving. With the later evenings in spring, you’ll have many more opportunities to explore and enjoy the outdoors.
With the break from school, it may be easy to forget to get enough sleep, and to eat well. Try to keep on your usual schedule by getting to bed at the same time you do during school. Also, make every effort to eat at your normal times to keep your body healthy and growing. Your body is amazing, but it works best when you follows your normal schedule for rest, nutrition and exercise.
I’m going to post ideas on my blog of activities you can do at home during the week off. Remember to check here frequently to see what you can do to stay healthy.
See you on April 1. No fooling!
