M6/6: Begin writing “I Am” Poems rough drafts. We’ll work on final drafts tomorrow.

T 6/7: Final drafts due today and we’ll share poems with each other.

M 5/30: No school–Memorial Day!

T 5/31: Poetry and Music Lyrics–Powerpoint

W 6/1:  Share Poetry and Music findings with each other.

F 6/3: “I am Poem”

Week 9:

M 5/23: Spring LPA

T 5/24: Introduce Poetry–Students will be given a list of poetry vocabulary words and will be defining them and providing examples for each vocabulary word.

W 5/25: Bookmark #33 is due today. How to read poetry.

Th 5/26: What makes a poem a poem?

F 5/27: Finish movie from previous week

Week 8:

M 5/16: Students should be finishing their revisions and writing their final drafts.

T 5/17: Final drafts should be almost done! Students will have time during class today to finish writing their final drafts, and either putting together their children’s book OR practicing saying their story out loud.

W 5/18: Bookmark #32 due today. Silent reading for 15-20 minutes. Final drafts for myth project are due today.

Th 5/19-F 5/20: Myth Presentations

Week 7:

M 5/9: Work on rough drafts for myth project.

T 5/10: Students should be done with rough drafts by the end of class today.

W 5/11: Peer/self revision work

Th 5/12: Revisions and begin to work on Final Drafts!

F 5/13: Revise and final draft work.

Week 6:

M 5/2: OAKS Testing

T 5/3: Last day for OAKS testing

W 5/4-F 5/6: Rough drafts for Create Your Own Myth Project

Week 1:

M 3/28: DJR–“What do you think of Language Arts? What do you like or dislike about it?” logged onto my Edmodo classroom. Handed out Class Syllabus. Show around my class blog, and play Telephone Pictionary. Signed syllabuses are due Friday April 1st.

T 3/29: DJR. Introduce mini speech unit. Begin outlining speech and choosing a topic. We’ll begin presenting these mini speeches either this Thursday or Friday!

W 3/30: DJR. Finish mini speech outline, begin writing out the speech and practicing.

Th 3/31: DJR. Finish and begin presenting mini speeches.

F 4/1: April Fools! Yes, we are still presenting mini speeches.
