Welcome

Dear Howard Families,

I’m very excited to have returned to Howard as principal! Prior to coming to Howard as principal, I was the principal at nearby Corridor and Yujin Gakuen Elementary Schools for five years, but I am particularly excited about coming back because I have a long history with the school. My first experience at Howard Elementary School was actually as a student, attending kindergarten through 6th grade (when Kelly MS was still a Junior High), which makes Howard a special place for me on a personal level. Also, my first teaching position was at Howard as the Technology Coordinator/Specialist. I was later a classroom teacher, teaching a 2/3 blend, and was eventually Howard’s Title 1 Coordinator before moving into administration. Becoming Howard’s principal is something of a homecoming for me and I am very excited to be here!

Howard is an exceptional school that is lucky to be staffed with caring professionals, ready and eager to educate your children. In addition to all that our talented and dedicated staff can do for your child, we want to invite parents to join in your child’s educational journey as well. Parent involvement in a child’s education is one of the strongest predictors of student academic success, so please consider making time to come and be a part of your child’s education at Howard. Parents can volunteer in classrooms, attend PTO meetings and other school events, stay in touch with your child’s teacher and school happenings, and maybe even serve on our Site Council. We’d love to have you here at our school!

If families ever have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call, email or stop by the office.

I look forward to working together to provide the best possible education for your children.

Sincerely,

Allan Chinn
Principal, Howard Elementary School
