I was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan (Go Blue!) and received my B.A. in History from Earlham College in Richmond, IN. After college I taught English on an island of 125 people in the Marshall Islands. With dreams of hot showers and climbing, I then attended Colorado College in Colorado Springs, CO and was granted my Masters of Arts in Teaching. During my year in graduate school I met my lovely wife Sarah. As a Eugene native she had always planned on moving back. Sarah is a Physician Assistant here in town and the two of us enjoy wrangling our three year old son, Brendan. We will also be welcoming our second child this November!
