Waggit’s Tale by Peter Howe

Waggit is a smart, ok, hunter. Tazar is a leader who is loyal to his team of dogs. Lowdown is a good friend to Waggit. Cal is a good friend. Lady Alicia is a beautiful lady. The setting is a city park and the plot is a pack of dogs try to survive the park against rangers. The pack of dogs hunt for food and they have a night watcher to look out for the mean pack of dogs. They do their best to do all of those. The conflict is winter and it’s harder to find food and warmth.

This is about a girl named Opal who lives with her father who is a preacher. Her dad sends her to the store to get some things and she comes home with a dog.

Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls

The characters in this book are Billy, Little Ann and old Dan. Billy is 14 years old. Ann and Dan are dogs. The setting is in the Ozarks. Billy is trying to coon hunt with his dogs. Billy isn’t catching enough raccoons.

Marley and Me by John Grogan

Marley and Me is about a rambuncious dog named Marley. He has fun with his family and ends up dying. I loved this book.
