We try and separate our trash
A desperate attempt to protect the past
Destined to a future of heat
Our earth is getting hotter, I accept defeat
And it’s not because I’m not vegan
It’s because of the corporations, that’s the reason
They cut down our trees to make room for a factory
Isn’t the space we have satisfactory?
We fill the oceans with plastic
For the fish, that isn’t fantastic
Can we still save the earth or is it true
Let’s face the facts, the earth that we once knew
Is ruined forever baked in a cosmic stew
I take solace in the fact
That maybe an alien is watching our act
And learning not to make the same mistakes
He will cherish his home, for his children’s sakes
So now all that we can do
Is be grateful for what we are about to lose
And appreciate this earth and all of its gifts
I just wished
That I had a few more years in the Oregon trees
And in the fog of our coastal seas.
The boy was kind of erky
His mom loved to make turkey
He would do a lot of burpees
And then beg for mercy
The next day he fought in a derby
He lost to a boy named murphy
Afterwards he felt kind of blurry
Which made his mom worry
The boy was young
He viewed his world through a lens
He would see things no one else would see
But then lost his heart
To a dreamy girl who’s smile lit up like a star
But one day she broke his heart
And crushed his lens
Then began to see the normal
The squirrel is little
Trying to survive the night
Looking for his nuts
As his little tummy growls
The sun starts to rise quickly
