Poetry

Lyric:

A Simple Life

V1:

Concrete road rolling by

Nowhere to go, nothing to see

My wheels turn with inevitability

Like the tick-tock of a grandfather clock

Their rumble simple background thought

Day by day I drive, without knowing quite why

Chorus:

Why do we strive

What’s the point of the fight

Can we win, can we stopour plight

Do we have time to spare

Does this world care

Is there a meaning to life

Can we end our strife

Will you end this journey alive

V2:

Clear waters ripple forward

With no start or end

Lazily floating around a bend

Ducks relax without a care in the world

With bread I act as their herald

Of food to come, and the simple life of a coward

V3:

Words flow across a page

The pen feels an end in sight only to start again

Each stroke makes a world left unknown to men

Does this world have value, or is it another bland line as well

Although mighty the simple pen has no way to tell

Dipped in ink it is ready to start a new age

Tankas:

I’ve stumbled through life
I walk on not knowing why
Yet somehow I live
Striving to change my own world
I cast out thoughts to make change

It’s Carpe Diem

Seize the day motherfucker

Use adrenaline

Run at top speed, get away

Carpe Diem, don’t die now

Load the ballista

You must listen to their screams

Appendages torn

Beside your face there is death

Do not look, load more, see none
