First Day of School Traditions

Do you and your family have a tradition for the first day of school? A tradition would be something that is repeated every year at the beginning of the school year like having a special breakfast or getting your picture taken in front of your classroom. I write a note to each of my children and put it in their lunch box for the first day of school. It’s become a tradition.

Did you know students in Germany are given paper cones filled with gifts, sweets and school supplies for the first day of school? The paper school cone is called “Schultute” and the tradition dates back to the early 19th century.

You can read more about it here:Why Germans Give Their Kids Cones on the First Day of School

Would you like to adopt this tradition? 😉
