Lost and Found
January 14th, 2014 by moak

Please label your student’s clothing with first and last names. This helps. If your child does lose something, please check the Lost and Found area, which is on the basement level near the gym. It is good for parents to check there before Winter Break and before the end of the school year because the Lost and Found becomes so full that we give items away twice a year.

Lunch boxes sometimes get placed in the bins belonging to other classrooms–feel free to check other classes’ lunch bins located in or near their doorways.  Sometimes children get hot in P.E. or outside at recess and take off extra layers.  Feel free to check the gym or the playground.  Often sweatshirts are still there and haven’t yet been brought to the Lost and Found.  Occasionally, a coat can be found hanging on the wrong hook because it has fallen on the floor and someone, trying to be helpful, has picked it up and hung it on a hook. You can check the halls to see. I once found my son’s coat near another classroom on an unmarked hook.

Small items, such as jewelry, are taken to the office for safe keeping. Check with our secretary. Little items, such as barrettes are sometimes in the classroom on a high bookshelf near the coat closet.

Bus drivers bring items left on the bus back to the school the next day.
