raw.jpgThis is a very strange book, quite original in concept. It’s a psychological thriller of sorts. One day Eric Sanderson wakes up and has no memory of who he is or where he is. He finds a letter addressed to “the second Eric Sanderson” from “the first Eric Sanderson” directing him to the office of a psychiatrist, where he discovers that he’s been treated for three years since his girlfriend died in an accident in Greece. He continues to receive letters from his former self, and finds that his memory is being devoured by a conceptual shark which feeds on thoughts and personality. Eric goes into hiding to try to avoid the shark. It’s slow going in the middle, but worth persevering. I liked the book; my husband didn’t.
