Writing + Being a Writer

Being a Writer is our writing curriculum. We are currently studying Unit 1 Week 2 which focuses on our writing community and encourages thoughtful listening and respectful comments.

You will see students working alone or with a partner using a process approach to break the writing task into smaller steps. You will see the teacher reading children’s literature to prompt writing ideas, orchestrating the discussion of a particular literary concept, writing herself (to model), and conferencing with individuals.
