To join a coven you need to practice Wicca for a year and a day. after that you can go to a member in the coven and ask to join.

In Wicca a coven is a community or gathering of witches who gather together for circles regularly.
Wiccans also gather for Sabbaths, Sabbaths are holidays.

Protection spell
One of the easiest spells is a protection spell. This spell works to protect your home and everyone in it from spiritual or physical invasion. (You do not need to cast a circle)
What you need:
-salt
-consentration
Steps:
-First move in a clockwise position and around the outside of your house. while you are doing this sprinkle salt around the house
-when spronkling the salt chant, “Pure salt protect this home and all who reside here. Keep out those who seek to harm, protect us from negativity, anger, and fear.”
-Do this till you get to the other end of your house say “this house is protected from negative energies and forces. blessed be.”

First Step
Before you try a spell you need to know how to cast a circle of protection. First choose where to have your circle then draw a large circle around you with white chalk then sprinkle salt around the circle while chanting
I ask that the Gods and Goddesses to bless this circle
So that I may be free and protected within this space
