Newsletter for week of Oct. 17
Dear Families,
Parent teacher conference confirmations or sign up are in your child’s Monday Mailer. Please check them over or use the sign up form to schedule your slot. It’s important that I meet with everyone.
I need field trip permission slips from the following students: Ava, Elizabeth, Johan, Kaitlyn, Makayla (there are two sides to sign), Silas and Zoe.
So thankful to have parent volunteers Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. If anyone is available, we could use volunteers Thursdays and Fridays from 9:20-10:50 for our reading block. This likely would only be until January when we’ll have our student teacher Ms. R here full time.
Please be sure your child brings a raincoat to school. We send students out to play and get fresh air even if it’s a little drizzly. Looks like another wet week!
What we’re learning this week:
MATH: Wrapping up our unit on combination, addition and word problem unit. Assessments at end of the week.
READING: Reading stories about neighbors as we practice blending words with short e (as in hen and when) and identifying text elements (captions, glossary, graphs, etc.). I accidentally sent home this week’s spelling and sight word flash cards last week so just keep plugging away on those.
WRITING: Writing stories about when we were little (LOL). Learning about adjectives and how to spice up our writing by using them to describe nouns.
This Week
Monday: PE, library
Tuesday: Book Nook, Mrs, Willow out in the morning for a math training and back for the remainder of the afternoon.
Wednesday: wear purple and green or Holt shirts, 1:10 release
Thursday: music,
Friday: music and ballet assembly
Save the Dates:
October 25: Field trip 11:45- 1:45 pm
October 28: Holtoberfest from 6-8 pm
Thanks everyone!
