My name is David White and since 2009 I have had the opportunity to teach bilingual Middle School Language Arts and Social Studies in the Corvallis, Woodburn, and Salem-Keizer School Districts. I completed my undergraduate degree at Willamette University where I majored in Latin American Studies and minored in Spanish and continued at Willamette for my Masters in Teaching.

I feel it is my extensive international experience that has allowed me to see the value of learning a language and its respective culture. As a child, I spent several years studying abroad in Spain, Chile, and Brazil. In 2013, I returned to Oregon from completing a 14-month teaching contract at a school in Qingdao, China. These multi-cultural experiences have greatly enriched my teaching, and allow me to reach students that have various learning preferences and language abilities through creating an engaging and practical learning environment.

When I’m not in the classroom teaching, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, listening to music, watching TV and being active. Now that my wife and I are settling down in Eugene, I am very excited to be a part of the Spanish Immersion team at Monroe Middle School.
