Autodesk Remake – (PC Only) ReMake is an end-to-end solution for converting reality captured with photos or scans into high-definition 3D meshes. Autodesk 123d Design Apps (123d Design is no longer being supported by Autodesk)

Free and excellent suite of 3D design software for multiple OS and devices. This is one of our staples in 3D design and printer output.

Autodesk Maya – 3D Modeling and Animation

3D Modeling and Animation software – ROBUST, AWESOME! Integrates with 123d Design apps. Free for students and educators!

Makerbot Desktop Software

Excellent and intuitive software for the Makerbot printers.

Autodesk Meshmixer

Excellent handshake to Autodesk 123d Design software, and ideal for prepping files for 3D print output.

Google SketchUp

This Google SketchUp is fun and free, and is known for being easy to use. To build models in SketchUp, you draw edges and faces using a few simple tools that you can learn in a short time.

TinkerCad

Great web-based 3D design site – good lessons and good 3D design playground, serious design jump-off to printing.

Another great web-based design site – simple tools, good tutorials, nice place to play and then get serious.

Blender

Blender is the free open source 3D content creation suite, available for all major operating systems under the GNU General Public License. Blender was developed as an in-house application by the Dutch animation studio NeoGeo and Not a Number Technologies (NaN). It is a powerful program contains features that are characteristic of high-end 3D software.
