Monday 2/3 “C” Day — Freshmen 9A and Sophomores 10B
FOR FRESHMEN:
Partners from last class group up with one other pair of students to discuss their questions on “Home Was a Horse Stall.” After that discussion, choose the best question to present to the class.
I asked you to keep the reading “Kaffir Boy” and the questions you’d answered regarding that reading.
Moving to literature from South Africa, you got instructions for making a “passbook,” reminiscent of the passbooks South African blacks were required to carry under apartheid. I showed up passbook examples from Google and gave you papers and instructions to make it.
HWK: Make your passbook. In it, write down two quotes from the reading “Kaffir Boy.” Don’t create a cover for your passbook; we’ll do that in class on Wed.
FOR SOPHOMORES 10B:
Play vocab game.
Work in small groups to create a poster with both quotes and illustrations of a theme in the novel that shows up in Chapters 15-24
HWK: Read chapters 25-29. Vocab test will be on Tuesday.
