What a busy beginning to a wonderful year in 3rd grade! I appreciate the time so many of you took to come to school for our open house on Tuesday. If we didn’t get a chance to meet yet, please feel free to stop by and introduce yourself when you are at Willagillespie.
We started strong this week and this class seems to enjoy each other and school in general. I have been enjoying getting to know them!
This year, I’m using SEESAW as a way to communicate with families. You can access it online and there is an app for the phone. It takes the place of printed newsletters and has a convenient parent/teacher communication format that resembles texting. If you haven’t signed up yet, you can go to the seesaw website and create an account using the QR code I gave you in the blue folder of beginning of the year papers. If you need a new copy, please let me know.

BOOK ORDERS: The first book order is due back Tuesday, September 17. Return the paper order to me, or you can order online. The link is on the “Book Orders” page of our class web site. The online class code is JDNF6. Scholastic is a great source for books and I use the bonus points to stock our classroom library.
MONDAY FOLDERS: Rather than send home papers every day, at Willagillespie, we send them home in a batch each Monday. Your 3rd grader will bring papers home with their blue plastic homework folder. Please keep the papers and have your child return the folder with their homework by Friday of that week. The folders aren’t here yet, so, for now, the papers will be paper-clipped together.
SCHOOL PICTURES are on Tuesday September 17. You should get the order form with Monday papers on the 9th.
CURRICULUM NIGHT at Willagillespie is Thursday September 19 from 6:00-7:30. Third grade usually presents in the second half of the night (probably starting around 6:45 or 7:00).
