About

I love “free entertainment”, that must be why I work in a Middle School –

kids say and do the funniest, most creative, astonishing, endearing, heart-felt, clever things everyday and I am blessed to have the opportunity to witness their accomplishments.

I have worked at Cal Young since 1999 in a variety of positions; everything from main office, gym supervision and classroom assistant. During that time I decided to go to college and graduated with a BA from UO in History/Anthropology, then in 2008 a Masters in Teaching from Pacific University. I am currently teaching 8th gr. LA, 6th gr. Explore Art, Year Long Art, Academic Success as well as 3D Design, and Photography, but I have taught Digital Media, Animation, Social Studies, Health, Creative Writing, and Leadership in the past.

On a personal note, I am a mother of two wonderful adults and grandmother to four incredible grand-kids, two dogs and two cats. I love music and like to dance while I cook. In the summer you might find me jumping off the rocks and swimming at Wildwood Falls, walking or riding my bike around town, dressing up for car shows and participating in charity events with The Oregon Divas, a unique group of women who volunteer, do photo-shoots, car washes, blood drives, car shows and fashion shows. I love the beach and try to put my toes in the sand as often as I can. I  also love to read, watch movies, draw and travel when I get the chance.
