Unified Sports • Basketball begins in January

Unified Sports  Basketball starts on Sunday, January 26 at 11:00am

Unified Sports is a partnership between the University of Oregon Intramural Program and Special Olympics Oregon. UO students, faculty, and staff compete on intramural teams with Special Olympic Athletes from the Eugene and Springfield communities. More than one million people compete in Unified Sports worldwide and the Unified Sports program was established on our campus in 2018. Teams compete each term in flag football, basketball, and outdoor soccer.

In addition to the on-campus leagues, the UO has also hosted and competed at regional and national championships. In 2024, the UO captured its first NIRSA Basketball National Championship in Madison, Wisconsin.

We will meet in the lobby of the Student Recreation Center around 11:00am on the first day (January 26) to get waivers done and we will have copies of them on site.

Parking is free on campus on Sundays. We will provide jerseys each Sunday, so players just need to bring athletic shorts, shoes, and an undershirt.

All of the games will take place on Sundays at 11:30am at the Uptown Courts in the  Student Recreation Center and here is the schedule:

  • Sunday, January 26
  • Sunday, February 2
  • No games Sunday, February 9
  • Sunday, February 16
  • Sunday, February 23
  • Sunday, March 2
  • Sunday, March 9 (possible depending on the number of teams we have)

Check out the U of  O website for Unified Sports.

We are super excited to have some more athletes join our program on campus.
