Replacing Handlebar Grips

Tools Needed:

  • Long Thin Tool
  • Clean Streak Spray (or spray deodorant)

Tips:

  • Remove Bar End of Grips

  • Use your tool to pull the grip away from the handlebars.  You only need to get your tool in a few inches .

  • Spray in between the grip and the handle bars

  • Try to loosen the grip by moving it with your hands. Use your tool again, and get further in to continue to pull the grip away from the handlebars.  Use more spray (but not too much)
  • Twist off the old grip

  • To install the new grip, spray the bare handlebars and the inside of the new grip (again not too much spray)

  • Slide the grip on.  Make sure the grip is straight (you can tell that the grip is straight if the graphic logos are straight).

  • Install the plug in (make sure the logo is correct.
  • Leave the bike so the grips set.
